Persistent Faltering
A downloadable mod
A tiny, simple challenge-rule mod for Ero Dungeons.
Changes the "Faltered" token (the stacking, persistent one you get from having been at 0 HP, not the "currently at 0 HP" one) to persist between dungeons. Instead, one token is removed each day from all adventurers who stayed at the guild.
Gives more reason to rotate out teams and avoid letting characters drop to low health. This drew a surprising amount of interest when I mentioned it offhand, and it was incredibly easy to make, so I figured I'd just make it.
This change is not a destiny option -- just enable the mod to enable the changes. If you disable it on an existing save, you may need to finish a dungeon to get rid of Faltered tokens left over on guild adventurers, but there should be no other issues. Entering a dungeon and immediately retreating will also work.
Available versions:
- Persistent Faltering - Basic: One Faltered token is removed after staying at the guild. No change to kidnap chances.
- Recommended if you just want to increase the difficulty, or if you're using the Forgiving Kidnapping custom rule from the Headstart mod.
- Persistent Faltering - Forgiving: One Faltered token is removed after staying at the guild. Base kidnap chance reduced; kidnap is not possible until 3+ Faltered tokens (without gear/quirk effects). Numbers taken from Forgiving Kidnapping.
- Recommended if you like the idea of being encouraged to rotate teams, but hate getting adventurers kidnapped and normally try hard to avoid faltering at all.
